Frequently Asked Questions

What’s more natural? Yellow or white beeswax?

Both! Yellow beeswax gets its colour from the honey and pollen it stores in the hive. This yellow wax undergoes a more intensive filtration process to remove all solids but the pure wax. Both yellow and white wax retain the subtle honey aroma.

Why don’t you mix types of wax?

Simply put, because we believe beeswax is the best there is. Beeswax releases no toxins into your home environment, and that’s the most important consideration. We also love that it’s a very sustainable choice; taking a  substance that is the byproduct of honey production (the wax cappings that cover the cells of honey in a hive) and turns it into beautiful, functional candles.

Are your wicks toxic?

We use 100% cotton wicks.

Why don’t you make scented candles?

We love the subtle honey aroma of pure beeswax.

In addition, it is difficult to scent beeswax effectively using natural scents like essential oils, and we are not open to using artificial scents due to the serious health concerns associated with these products. We only sell the sorts of high-quality, natural products we happily use in our own home!
